Core muscles are usually known for stabilizing and controlling movement of the body. Yet with such an important functions, the core exercises are usually ignored. But it is advisable and beneficial to develop core muscles.

Reasons to develop build strong core muscles

  • Help in preventing injuries- We all can face injury at any given point of time. A strong set of core muscles ensure to minimize and resist the damage of an injury.
  • A few crunches are enough- It is not a demanding regime. A few core exercises every day is adequate to build the muscles.
  • Physical activities becomes easier if the core muscles are strong-since the primary functions of core muscles is to stabilize the body, other exercises becomes easier to follow.
  • They tone your Abs as well.
  • Fitness targets are easier to achieve.

Targets or muscles for core exercises in the body

  • Lower back muscles-The equilibrium of the body and the most common area prone to injury. 
  • Shoulders-Too many benefits in having strong shoulders. The posture is correct, the body is equipped for better lifting, reduces back injuries in old age and common shoulder injuries are less.
  • Forearms-This is never on the priority list. Though a lot depends on the toned and strong forearms.
  • Hips- the most hardworking joints in the body.
  • Neck- we tend to exercise this region when sore or stiff. A strong neck ensures other exercises are followed easily. 

So if few minutes from the fitness regime are spared for core exercises, the benefits are plenty.
