In current generation, sports person believes in muscle strength over muscle power and isometric strength. However, in reality it is reverse. However, the real question is “what is isometric strength?”

Isometric strength is ignored by major sport fitness centres; however they play a major role for sport guy. It helps in improving performances be it cricket or football, golf or table tennis which one major reason why isometric exercise are important for sport persons.

Isometric exercises deals in generation of force without moving the length of the muscle. It deals with flexing of a muscle at any specific point without moving its length.
Few of the best isometric exercise are listed below for easy reference:-

  • Planks and Side Planks

It helps in building stability and core strength. It is holding a position for a fixed time and building up on it.

  • Pushups 

There are isometric pushups in which you are required to mid press up position for a standard time and build over it over a week or so.

  • Isometric Squalls

In Isometric Squall one needs to hold leg legs parallel to floor and place the back near the wall for fixed time and work on holding this position.

Thus if we observe above, isometric exercises deals in holding up a particular position for a fixed time which helps in increasing your stamina thereby improving the performance of an individual in the field which requires high stamina and resistance. Thus, it cannot be ignored by sports person.
